Maestro lapangan tengah itu melakukan 136 passing dan 127 diantaranya sukses. Rekor sebelumnya pernah dicatat legenda Belanda Ronaldo Koeman, yang melepaskan 117 passing di pertandingan kontra Denmark pada Euro 1992.

Skuat besutan Vicente del Bosque juga mencatat rekor lain, yakni memberikan total passing sebanyak 860 melawan the Boys in Green. Tidak hanya itu, La Furia Roja mendominasi pertandingan hingga 78 persen hingga akhirnya mampu membukukan empat gol.

Spanyol kini memuncaki klasemen Grup C dengan perolehan poin yang sama dengan Kroasia, 4, namun unggul selisih gol. Dua tim teratas ini akan melakoni laga terakhir, Senin (18/6).
